Copyright and takedowns
Last updated October 8, 2026
mark is a private bookmark manager. People use it to save posts, articles and links they want to read later, in a library only they can see. This page explains how saving works and how authors can have their content removed.
How saving works
- A save starts with one person choosing one link. mark doesn't crawl, scrape in bulk or follow links on its own.
- mark only reads publicly available pages, through each platform's public embed and link-preview endpoints. It doesn't sign in to anyone's account and doesn't get around paywalls or private settings.
- Each save keeps its author and a link back to the original. Videos aren't downloaded; only a preview image is kept.
- A library is visible only to its owner. Nothing in mark is published, shared, sold or used to train AI models. Our terms forbid using mark to republish other people's content.
Asking for removal
If you're the author or rights holder of content saved in mark and want it removed, email support@mark-it.app with:
- the link to the original post, article or page,
- how you're connected to it (for example, the account it was posted from),
- and a short statement that you're the author or authorized to act for them.
We reply within 3 business days. Once we've confirmed the request, we remove that content, including its text and images, from every mark library that saved it.
Misuse
Accounts that use mark to republish, sell or distribute other people's content, or that repeatedly save content after a confirmed removal, are suspended.
