Bookmarks converter

Turn a browser bookmarks export into CSV, JSON, Markdown or OPML.

Drop your bookmarks export here

The .html file Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari saves. It's read on your device and never uploaded.

Getting your bookmarks file

Chrome: open the Bookmark manager (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+O), then the ⋮ menu, then Export bookmarks. Edge: Favorites, then More options, then Export favorites. Firefox: Bookmarks, Manage bookmarks, then Import and Backup, then Export Bookmarks to HTML. Safari: File, then Export, then Bookmarks.

Nothing leaves your device

The file is read by your browser with JavaScript and converted on the spot. It's never uploaded, so private folders stay private.

What you get

CSV and JSON list every bookmark with its folder path, date added and tags. Markdown turns folders into headings. OPML keeps the folder tree, so outliners can open it.

Limits

Safari exports have no dates, so the date columns stay empty. Favicons are left out of every format. Very large files (tens of thousands of bookmarks) work, but the preview only shows the first 200 lines.
